Attachment for High Reach Truck - Reach trucks are loading devices used by varieties of establishments that preserve a warehouse facility or supply center concerning the organization of finished commodities and equipment on pallets which are inserted into elevated shelving units. This device provides easy and secure retrieval of the loaded pallets whilst ensuring proficient storage of merchandise that are not required immediately.
Normal reach vehicles are designed with a mounted rigging mechanism on the face of the truck. Telescoping forks are able to move up and down on this mounted rigging. A system utilizing hydraulics permits the worker grab and even reposition the freight over the outriggers. This design delivers a more level balance of the load and will allow for easier maneuvering amid the storage shelves and small aisles.
When loading pallets on the their specific shelves, the hydraulics can be applied to slide and swing the pallet into place. This apparatus is little enough to fit into an aisle less than 10 feet across without many difficulties so long as there is nothing protruding from any shelves.
Quite a few types of the reach truck are offered. The most straightforward unit is the stand-up reach model which will slide forks beneath the pallet and bring it to a stockroom location then slide it into place. This style of reach truck is ideal for shelving units that are no deeper than an individual pallet of goods. A double-reach vehicle works in the same basic manner as the stand-up type but uses telescopic forks that are long enough to slide a pallet into shelves that accommodate two pallets. Straddle reaches are an alternative reach truck variation. This kind of reach truck slides beneath the pallet and is also able to grab the sides as well. The straddle reach unit is useful when grasping the sides of the pallet and goods will not result in damage. They permit easy pallet retrieval of a pallet that may be 4th or 5th in line and are helpful when the shelving units are easily reached in more than one direction.
Warehouses, manufacturing plants and fabric companies frequently use a number of types of the reach truck. Using a reach truck to store provisions, pallets of finished merchandise, and in general to keep the storage area in order is a familiar practice. Easy to maneuver, the reach truck may help make better use of both time and accessible stockroom space.
